Device & app
A clinic's method, from your own bed
A small EEG recorder that sits on your forehead, and an app that delivers the sound. That is the whole of the hardware.
Why gel electrodes
The difference from a consumer dry electrode
This is the point where myWaves parts company with consumer sleep gadgets.
-
Gel electrode pads
Unlike the dry-contact devices usually sold for home use, myWaves uses gel electrode pads, which record brainwaves with markedly less noise and error.
-
The same site a sleep clinic uses
Sleep EEG is detected principally at the frontal lobe of the forehead. The Pebble measures the same place, in the same way as a sleep clinic.
-
EDF compatible
Recordings conform to EDF, the standard brainwave format. A clinic can also work from PSG or HST recordings it already holds.
App & portal
From recording to playback
Recordings go to the portal; the generated sound comes back to the app.
-
Upload to the portal
Connect the Pebble to a computer and upload the night's recording through the SDH myWaves portal. Analysis takes about thirty minutes.
-
Play it in the app
Your sound plays in the myWaves app for iOS and Android. It is an MP3, so speakers, headphones and any Bluetooth device work too.
-
Three sounds in the kit
The one-year single-user subscription includes three downloadable personalised sounds, so you can pick one to suit the night.
Safety
Please read before use
Precautions for the headphones and the battery. The instruction sheet in the box also applies.
- The product generates magnetic fields. Keep the headphones at least 10 cm away from pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) at all times.
- Do not expose the product to temperatures above 70°C, such as hair dryers, heaters or prolonged direct sunlight. The built-in battery may overheat.
- Charge only in an ambient temperature between 10°C and 40°C.
- Do not crush, pierce or apply high pressure to the battery. It can short internally and overheat.
- This is not a toy. It contains small parts that could be swallowed, so keep the product and its packaging away from children and pets, and supervise any child using it.
- If you have adhesive sensitivities or allergies, consult a doctor before use.
